[Study of speech characteristics in hearing-impaired pilots for creation of voice-activated system operating airborne equipment].

Comparative experimental study covered speech characteristics in speakers with normal hearing and pilot speakers with neurosensory deafness. Evaluation criteria were duration, speech volume, spectral characteristics of words. Main difference of speach in pilot speakers with hearing disorders was higher variability of its characteristics.

[Specification of reflectometric measurement complex to evaluate optic density of macular pigments and concentration of phototoxic chemicals in retina].

Suggestion is to specify reflectometric measurement complex based on digital multisensor imaginery fundus-camera, in order to evaluate optic density of macular pigments and concentration of phototoxic chemicals in human retina. The authors presented a review of role played by macular pigments (zeaxanthine and lutein) in human eye viability, analyzed yellow spot as a protective light filter against harmful effects of short-wave light, increasing optic image quality in human eye and responsible for colour vision. Role of evaluating the individual density of macular pigments was stressed as a forecasting efficient criterion of occupational selection in operators performing visual tasks of detection, distance and dimensions measurement for remote objects, monitoring the changeable circumstances.

[Functional disorders of vision and their prophylaxis in professionals using PC]. / Funktsional'nye narusheniia organa zreniia i ikh profilaktika u professional'nykh pol'zovatelei PEVM.

With ophthalmologic examination of professionals using PC, the author specified functional disorders of vision. A syndrome diagnosed could be assigned to asthenopia. Complex of preventive measures could decrease frequency of asthenopic signs among PC operators and managing staffers.

[Intracerebral connections after administration of kainate into the caudal part of ventral sections of the medulla oblongata]. / Vnutrimozgovye sviazi posle vvedeniia kainata v kaudal'nuiu chast' ventral'nykh otdelov prodolgovatogo mozga.

It was found that 1 day after unilateral destruction with kainate of neurons in the caudal ventral medulla unanesthetized animals showed disorders of arterial pressure control with a prevalence of hypertensive response. In 7 days after operation there was a decrease in the rate of neuronal uptake of serotonin and an increase in choline-, dopamine-, noradrenaline-, and glycinergic mediation in the basal hypothalamus and rostral ventral medulla, which characterize the functional state of synaptic formations in the brain stem structures connected to neurons in the caudal ventral medulla and involved in cardiovascular regulation.
